Was ist Gold Vermeil?

Vermeil ist eine gesetzlich geschützte Bezeichnung für vergoldete Silberstücke, die einem bestimmten Qualitätsstandard entsprechen. Um legal als „Vermeil“ bezeichnet zu werden, muss Schmuck ALLE folgenden Bedingungen erfüllen: 

  1. Eine Basisschicht aus Sterlingsilber haben.
  2. Mit mindestens 10 Karat Gold (10 Karat) plattiert sein, was bedeutet, dass es mindestens 41,7 % reines Gold enthält.
  3. Eine Vergoldung haben, die mindestens 2,5 Mikron dick ist. Ein Mikron ist 1/1000stel Millimeter.
